Abstract

Reagents, prepared from the alpha-acetoxy bromides 2a-d, zinc dust and CrCl3 in THF in the presence of a donor ligand like dimethylformamide, give selectively (E)-alkenes 3a-j upon reaction with aldehydes 1a-f. [References: 13]
