Abstract
Fluorine, changing course: Challenging the actinorhodin minimal polyketide synthase (act‐minimal PKS) with fluoroacetyl‐CoA as a starter unit yielded a fluorinated octaketide intermediate that led to the selective formation of fluoro‐SEK4b (see scheme); no fluoro‐SEK4 was formed(not shown).
