Abstract
A crystal form of glutamine synthetase suitable for structural studies at medium to high resolution has been grown. Optimal conditions for crystal growth were determined from a search of several thousand crystallizing conditions, and X-ray grade crystals can be repeatably grown. The crystal contains one molecule in the asymmetric unit. The arrangement of molecules within the unit cell has been determined from the known molecular dimensions and from sets of systematically weak reflections.
