Abstract
The TrapRemi experiment combines a linear electrostatic ion trap (Zajfman trap) with a reaction microscope. The aim of the setup is to investigate the quantum dynamics in molecular ions over time in kinematically complete coincident measurements. In order to design the ion transferline, within this thesis vacuum calculations and simulations of the ion optical elements in the beamline in front of the TrapRemi were performed. The simulations with the software SIMION contained measurements of the focal length of an electrostatic lense and the trapping efficiency of the TrapRemi. The vacuum calculations showed, that the stepwise reduction of the pressure in the ion beamline from.~1 x 10-6 mbar (ion source working pressure) to .~1 x 10-10 mbar in the TrapRemi, is possible with the present vacuum components. The simulations of the electrostatic lense revealed, that the focal length is only dependent on the ratio of the ion kinetic energy and the electrode voltage of the lense. The trap efficiency simulations showed, that dependent on the angular distribution of the ions, in a range of approximatly 200 - 300V the maximum efficiency is reached.
