Abstract
Europawahlen werden oft als nationale Stimmungswahlen angesehen, in denen Bürger nicht ihre europapolitischen Interessen, sondern die Unzufriedenheit mit ihren nationalen Parteien ausdrücken. Philip Manow und Holger Döring zeigen, dass dies nicht die einzige Ursache für die entgegenlaufenden Mehrheiten in Ministerrat und Parlament ist, und identifizieren mögliche Demokratiedefizite der EU.
