Abstract
Scriptaphyosemion wieseae, new species, is described from collections in northern Sierra Leone. Results of a small DNA study indicate, that S. bertholdi from the southeastern part of the country is the closest relative. Both species can be distinguished by male and female color pattern and male caudal fin shape.
