Abstract
Two canopies of a widely distributed Amazonian tree species, Goupia glabra Aubl. (Celastraceae; height 38 and 45m) were fogged in intervals of 6 or 24 months (1991-1994) with 1% natural pyrethrum near Manaus, Brazil. The capture data of arthropods indicate a biotic interaction primarily between ants and gall midges, and secundarily between gall midges and parasitic Hymenoptera.
