Abstract
Abstract A first faunistical and taxonomic treatment of the Blephariceridae of the Asiatic part of Turkey is given; it is based on the study of over 1,800 specimens belonging to 12 different species. Of these, only 2 had been named before; 6 new species are described, the remaining 4 species (2 of them known from the Caucasus since 1914) are not named since their adults remain unknown. Most species are figured, keys for the less easily identified stages (♀ ♀ , pupae, larvae) are included. The Blepharicerid fauna of the Asiatic part of Turkey shows close affinities to the Caucasian one (4 species in common), whereas none of the strictly European species is known from Asia Minor.
