Abstract

Abstract The paper contains records of 26 species of Plecoptera from the western Mediterranean area. Several new records raise the number of species known from Portugal and spain to 32 or 98 respectively. ♀♀ and nymphs of Rhabdiopteryx thienemanni ILLIES are described, the description of Brachyptera arcuata (KLAP.) is completed. Two new subspecies of Nemoura cinerea (RETZ.), N. cinerea iberica n. ssp. (Spain, Portugal) and N. cinerea turcica n. ssp. (Asia Minor) are named.
