Abstract
Abstract The abundance of the Berdeniella species and their proportion in psychodid communities depends on current speed and on water temperature. In Europe they are characteristic and dominant inhabitants of the epirhithron. In contradiction in polluted waters the tribe Psychodini is dominating. Contrary to previous statemants, there is no adaptation to particular concentrations of dissolved calcium.
