Abstract: Dielectronic recombination measurements with Li-like in-flight produced actinides were performed at the storage ring ESR of the GSI Helmholtzzentrum fur Schwerionenforschung employing the ring's cooler as a target for free electrons. The extension of the DR technique for the investigation of isotope effects towards shortlived nuclei (> 10 s) is a major advance and enables new types of experiments at the interface of atomic and nuclear physics.
