 Abstract: Digital documents often require highly detailed representations of real world objects. This is especially true for advanced e-commerce applications and other multimedia data bases like online encyclopaedias or virtual museums. Their further success will strongly depend on advances in the field of high quality object representation, distribution and rendering. This tutorial highlights some recent results on the acquisition and interactive display of high quality 3D models and shows how these results can be seamlessly integrated with previous work into a single framework for the acquisition, processing, transmission, and interactive display of high quality 3D models on the Web.
