Abstract: The type species of Lamachus Stål, 1877, Lamarchinus Uvarov, 1940, Lopaphus Redtenbacher, 1908 (not Lopaphus Westwood, 1859), Lopaphodes Karny, 1923, Orxines Stål, 1875, Pseudodiacantha Redtenbacher are reviewed, with the result that Lamachus and Lamarchinus are found to be new synonyms of Orxines and that the correct name of one of the most famous phasmids has to be corrected into Pseudodiacantha macklottii (de Haan, 1842)
