Abstract: Type-species are designated for nine genera of Phasmatodea: Areolatae: Prexaspes (Elasia) REDTENBACHER, 1906, Cirsia REDTENBACHER, 1906, Leprodes REDTENBACHER, 1906, Onogastris REDTENBACHER, 1906, Paraphasma REDTENBACHER, 1906, Paraprisopus REDTENBACHER, 1906, Perisceles REDTENBACHER, 1908, Pseudodatames REDTENBACHER, 1906 and Pseudoleosthenes REDTENBACHER, 1906. Lectotypes are designated for Leprodes dicranocollis REDTENBACHER, 1906, Aschiphasma nebulosum WESTWOOD, 1859 and Pseudoleosthenes scaberrimus REDTENBACHER, 1906
