Abstract: Die Wiederbesiedlung von Hyporhithral und Epipotamal der Fulda im Gefolge der Phosphatfällung im Klärwerk Fulda-Gläserzell seit 1986 durch Ephemeroptera (36 Arten), Plecoptera (12 Arten), Trichoptera (53 Arten) und Aphelocheirus (Heteroptera) wird dokumentiert. The recolonisation of the hyporhithral and epipotamal reaches of the river Fulda by Ephemeroptera (36 species), Plecoptera (12 species), Trichoptera (53 species) and Aphelocheirus aestivalis (Heteroptera) following phosphorus removal in the sewage treatment plant at Fulda-Gläserzell beginning in 1986 is documented. In spite of the improved water quality of the Fulda, mainly in the former strongly devasteted area between Gläserzell and Hutzdorf, for some of the species the sudden concentration of waste water discharged by the purification plant still seems to be a border of diffusability. The epipotamal of the river Fulda is one of the few major German rivers with a typical and species-rich insect fauna.
