Abstract: Markers by mass: The effect of terpenoids on organisms can be investigated by using DNA adducts as markers. High‐resolution MS was used to characterize DNA/α‐pinene oxide adducts after enzymatic digestion. The reaction of α‐pinene oxide with the N7 position of guanosine leads to cleavage of the N‐glycosidic bond and formation of the N7 guanine adducts (see picture).
